Easter Trip Big Breakdown - London III / Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Ok, so why is London a must go if you visit Europe? Hmm.. Let me give you 3 big reasons for me:

1. Experience the agony of spending in pounds!!

Ok, so how much is the duck rice above.... No joke, this is one of the most famous duck rice in London, Bayswater. And its good!! Yea thick chunks of meat with little fats.. Its really a huge portion.. BUT... Cost: 5 Pounds!! 15sgd!!! Crazy right... I can have a whole duck back in Singapore... Some Londoners who sat beside us actually ordered Singapore style fried noodles... Eh, wats tt? Singapore got a style of frying noodles?? And the ones seating opposite us best.... 2 persons ordered 2 plates of duck.. One peking one roasted.. And i mean its almost half a duck on each plate on the table.. Woah... 20 pounds each plate... -____- I wonder how many ducks you can eat in Singapore with those money....

2. Experience the classiest shopping centre in the world!

Yea.. Its Harrods... So classy it trashes Takashimaya, Paragon or Tanglin... The food section is totally mindblowing.. Never see anything like this before in my entire life...

Hungry?? There are almost 10 different sections selling everything from fruits to world cusines... The way they are presented already makes me hungry, imagine how torturing it is to walk through the different sections!!

Even the fruits look so tempting!! Dun underestimate the pineapples lined up there.. It will cost you somewhere from 10-20 pounds each!! The lychee is nice too, around 2 pounds each!! The pastries look so nice too!! If only I was carrying a bag of cash with me....

3. The overly priced attractions and musicals!!

So where can you find the Pope and Brad Pitt and Angelica Jolie all in one place? Eh, not in a church.. Madame Tussads Wax Museum!! This attraction costs a hefty 16 pounds!! But its worth it I guess.. Totally different from normal wax museums.. It is theme based and you can actually touch all of them, no guarantees it wont break though... Its a great wax museum I would say, complete with rides and scare shows!! Lol.. cool ain't it.. But always buy tickets elsewhere.. Queuing there is a tedious process that takes up to an hour if you are lucky..

The London eye is one of the most popular attractions available in London... I must admit, the view is really superb.. BUT... paying 13 pounds for a ferris wheel is really alot.. Ya, its a big wheel so I guess its the biggest and most expensive ferris wheel Ive been to.. Eh, actually its the only ferris wheel Ive been to.. lol...

I guessed Ive been talking bout musicals for 2 posts liao so I guess you all know bout them liao.. haha

Easter Tip Big Breakdown - London II / Monday, April 23, 2007

Ok, so whats my favourite place in London?? Its Leicester Square... Not only is it happening, all the tickets for the musicals are sold there.. Yea, but dun be fooled, all of the booths will say that they are the official half pice ticketing booth, but only one is the Original... Bleah.. I bought at the 1st available booth that says 'Official Half-Price Booth'!! When I turned a corner, there are more than 10 of them in the square...

Ok, so the next 2 days we spent on musicals too!! Les Miserables and Phantom... You cant go wrong with these 2 musicals, who doesn't know of them??? The best thing is that the theaters are so traditional.. Not like the ones you see in singapore, like the Esplanade.. The theaters here are old but grand.. Totally new experience..

Easter Trip BIG Breakdown - London I / Friday, April 20, 2007

Yea!! Easter Trip is finally over... What a long 2 weeks it was.. Never been so tired from travelling in my whole life.. I think the number of times I sat on a plane for this 2 weeks is more than what i sat in 3 years...

So we started off in London... So wats the first thing we went to do?? Chiong musical!!! Ha.. as if its cheap, its not!! 20-30 pounds each, maybe to them its cheap, to us its like close to 100sgd each... In anycase, we went for 3!!! Crazy right.. But im glad I went for the 3.. Its really a totally new experience.... Next time must go broadway too!!

1st musical we went was WICKED!! Eh, ya the name of the musical is Wicked... Superb musical.. First time Im seeing it cos everyone seems to recommend it, and its indeed superb!! Take a look at this and you will know..

Wow.. Its been such a long time I felt the power of a musical.. So much better than movies or concerts... Yeah, Im a fan of musicals now!! =)
